Accessibility Statement
Providence Downs Guide is committed to making this website usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities.
Last updated: January 2026.
Our commitment
We believe every visitor deserves an equal experience of this Site. We work to conform, as closely as reasonably practicable, to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) on every page.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive controls.
- Sufficient color contrast for text and interactive elements.
- Resizable text without loss of content or functionality.
- Clear focus indicators on interactive elements.
- Continuous accessibility review as new content and features are added.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is an ongoing process. Some areas of the Site — including third-party embeds and legacy content — may not yet fully meet our standard. We prioritize remediation as those issues are identified.
Assistive technology
The Site is designed to work with modern browsers and common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. If you encounter a barrier while using any assistive technology, we want to hear about it.
Feedback & assistance
If you experience an accessibility barrier on this Site, or if you would like information from the Site provided in an alternative format, please contact us through our contact page. Please include:
- The web address (URL) where you experienced the issue.
- A description of the problem and the assistive technology and browser you were using.
- The best way for us to reach you with a response.
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days and to resolve reported barriers as quickly as reasonably practicable.
Third-party content
The Site links to independent third-party websites and services (including trusted local partner sites) that we do not control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of external sites, but we are happy to relay accessibility concerns to those partners on your behalf.
Formal complaints
If our response does not resolve your concern, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
